Royal salute 21
Over the years, this special blend has stayed true to its roots.
He would name his masterpiece Royal Salute 21 Years Old, in reference to the long tradition of firing cannons as a sign of respect or welcome to sovereigns and dignitaries: the 21-Gun Royal Salute. Drawing from the exceptionally aged range of casks laid down over the years by Chivas Brothers in the Highlands of Scotland, Charles skilfully married the powerful flavours of whiskies aged no less than 21 years to craft a blend fit for royalty. Five hundred miles from London, a man called Charles Julian, who was the Master Blender at Chivas Brothers, set out to honour the new monarch by creating the ultimate blended Scotch whisky. The name Royal Salute is derived from the 21 salutes fired at the coronation. Taste: full, deep fruity flavours with a subtle smokinessOn 2nd June 1953, the young Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at Westminster Abbey, watched by the world for the first time on television. The Chivas Regal Royal Salute 21 Years is a blend with history, launched in 1952.Nose: rich, fruity aromas and sweet fragrance of autumn flowers It was called Royal Salute, after the 21-gun salute - the ultimate mark of respect, reserved for tributes to dignitaries and nations alike. After the excitement, a trace of smoke lingers. In the mouth, the welcome warmth of orange marmalade and fresh pears is followed by a brave explosion of spices and hazelnut. An elegant blend of vanilla and dry oak is crowned with subtle notes of sherry and just a wisp of smoke. On the nose, sweet pears and citrus fruits are balanced with the fragrance of autumn flowers. There's history in each measure, a royal tradition that's British to the core. A celebration to live long in the memory, Royal Salute was created to mark the coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II. This is a classic, unchanged since 1953, with a flavour and fragrance that will make your heart sing. The one that started it all – a whisky fit for a queen.Maps and Further details for Collection Points *All orders for collection in Cork airport must be placed at least 72 hours in advance Our collection point is located here.ĭepartures: Directly after security, at the Click & Collect desk in The Loop storeĪrrivals: At the Information Desk in the Arrivals Hall Terminal 2 Arrivals: Immediately after you pass through the customs screening area, you will see The Loop arrivals shopping area on your right.
