There too Solasta is eerily similar to Neverwinter Nights, whose pathbreaking (at the time) engine sparked a huge amount of fan-created content and in whose footsteps Solasta is surely hoping to follow. What you're mainly getting with Solasta is proof-of-concept that you can design a 5e engine that lets you create true-to-tabletop characters and fight true-to-tabletop foes. So if you are looking for lore + story, it's more debatable whether you should make the purchase. Players will create their heroes just as they would in a pen-and-paper game by choosing. Every hero expresses themselves in the adventure, making each action and dialog choice a dynamic part to the story. You get Stuck in long cut scenes that are boring and slow.'-Malus. Play Lost Valley co-op with up to 4 players. New subclasses, one for each of the nine existing classes in Solasta. New foes to face, with iconic monsters such as Giants, Hags and Golems who will try to turn your party into mush. On the other hand, Solasta's lore/backstory is actually pretty good and somewhat innovative. I think this game is worth the money but if you want a story that is good or not on rails look elsewhere. A replayable non linear story, as you are the one deciding which faction to side with in order to escape the Valley. I cannot remotely imagine buying this game if the main or only thing you care about is story. There is barely any role-playing to be done and hardly any choices have consequences down the road. The combat is pretty tactical, but not on DOS2s level - at least so far. In practice there will be complex dialogues with some. Solasta has a great D&D-like, traditional fantasy RPG feel. I'd be curious to know how complex and how important the dialogues in the campaign will be.

In the demo we saw more or less how the dialogues will be in the game (For me the interaction of the demo was done very well). I would say Solasta's story is on a par with Neverwinter Nights' OC, which is to say quite poor. 2 years ago (edited) Hi dev, another thorny question for you.
